Your humble attitude towards others and flexibility with assignments will allow you to support clients needing to
be seen at our Wauwatosa office location as well as throughout the community in various environments. This
position provides the opportunity for you to take the foundations of music therapy and see how these core
concepts can be applied to individuals of varied needs and ages.

With continued guidance and a team to brainstorm and collaborate with, your toolbox will naturally multiply
rapidly. As a team, we continue to individually grow and learn, allowing us to recognize our fellow therapists as
experts in their own right. Joining our team will give you the opportunity to work on an interdisciplinary team
consisting of a combination of 50+ years of experience!

Day to day includes working with a variety of clients including but not limited to:
• children and/or adults with developmental disabilities
• adolescents and/or adults with mental health needs
• hospice care
• Neurodegenerative Disorders such as Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Parkinson's Disease
• Memory care needs in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, Rehab, etc.
• In-home clients with various needs

Your attention to the details, dependable habit, and timely submission of professionally written and
encompassing therapy session notes ensure that the team can collaborate and support each other.

a salaried position.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:
· Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy
· Board Certified Music Therapist (or intent to become board certified).
· Strong professional and HIPAA compliant note taking practice
· Proficient at music skills to include a minimum of keyboard, voice, and guitar (Audition required)
· Experience working within and supporting like-minded teams
· Experience working with people in group AND 1-1 therapy sessions.
· Strong written and verbal communications skills
· Must have reliable car, clean driving record and proof of current auto insurance.
· Excellent time management and punctuality habits.

Preferred:
· Spanish speaking and/or management/supervision experience is highly desirable

St. Camillus is currently seeking a Music Therapist with a passion for older adults and a strong commitment to our team.
The applicant must be committed to raising the bar for Long-Term care through opportunity and engagement to increase quality of life of those we serve.

Assesses the interests and activity needs of our residents at the time of move-in and throughout their residency with us. Orient all residents to activity program and how to access activities.
Designs and implements a music therapy program that identifies the social, creative, physical, spiritual and emotional needs, interests, and capabilities of each resident.

Plans and implements music activities for single or group settings, including individualized programs and one-to-one contacts. Utilizes a variety of motivational techniques to encourage resident participation in individual and group activities.
Researches, creates and executes the daily activities for residents with Dementia.
Introduces new programs such as music and movement, dance and percussion, music and memory utilizing strong program development skills.

Incorporate families into programs, increasing family involvement and awareness of Life Enrichment Program and benefits.
Maintains timely, accurate records/documentation either written or computerized of resident’s activity attendance and involvement as required by law &/or regulations of St. Camillus or request of manager.
Implements community outings.  In addition, to appeal to the residents, consider costs, location, accessibility, and time needed for each

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited college with a degree in Music Therapy, or related field.
1+ years of dementia experience, preferred
Must understand the social, psychological and recreational needs of the elderly, especially those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia as well as other types of disabled residents in St. Camillus Assisted Living & Memory Care, and must be able to plan and organize activities geared to meet those needs.

Valid WI driver’s license
Ability to promote socialization and cooperative relationships with residents, family, staff and community.
Has the ability to work independently.  Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Exhibits high energy and is outgoing.
