Life in Harmony Music Therapy, LLC (LIH) strives to serve with Passion and Purpose in Every Beat. The core values of the LIH team include: Quality, Authenticity, Growth, and Integrity.
LIH welcomes candidates with diverse clinical experiences and theoretical orientations; however, interested applicants should note that NMT is an integral part of LIH’s philosophy, service provision, communication, treatment planning, and team inner workings. Thus, it is required that each member of the LIH team complete the required training to become a member of the Robert Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy within the first six-months (or at the next North American Training Institute).
LIH’s main clinic is located in West Salem, WI. Services are also provided at LIH’s outreach facilities/locations (Tomah, Viroqua, and Black River Falls) as well as in the community. Our agency operates a mobile music therapy studio that serves to increase access to clinic-based music therapy services in rural communities. Some service locations are not available at this time due to COVID-19. Virtual services are held through various platforms such as Doxy.me or Zoom. LIH currently services individuals of all ages and needs across an eight-county radius in Southwest & Western Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota.
LIH embodies a team-approach and applicants can look forward to having a supportive team atmosphere with opportunities for professional development, coaching & supervision, and collaboration. The team approach has allowed LIH to expand music therapy services to more rural areas and is vital in covering services when a client’s primary music therapist is unavailable.
LIH’s current music therapists have expressed that having a diverse caseload allows them an opportunity to utilize a variety of clinical skills on a regular basis – keeping their skills fresh in many areas. Additionally, a common reflection is that “no day is the same” due to frequent transitions between community-based services and facility-based services.
As a team, we greatly value transparency, communication, willingness to be flexible, and a desire to learn. If you are looking to be part of a caring team of passionate music therapists, we invite you to read more below.
Professional references must be able to provide feedback regarding the applicant’s clinical experience as an MT-BC or music therapy student/intern – specifically in the settings/populations serviced at LIH such as mental health or children.
These include Health/vision/dental/life insurance, Health Savings Account, Simple IRA, PTO (holiday, personal, continuing education, bereavement, maternity/paternity leave), paid mileage at the standard IRS reimbursement rate, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Professional Liability Insurance, Workers’ Compensation, American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) annual membership dues, various stipends to support employee professional development & self-care such as wellness, musicianship, continuing education, and special instrument/equipment expenses, and more.
