Oakwood Village in Madison, Wi promotes music therapy with older adults on a national level

Oakwood Village fosters a community where adults 55 years and older lead lives of growth, happiness, health and security. It’s been the focus of Oakwood Lutheran Senior Ministries for more than seven decades.  More than 950 people reside in the two non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Communities, which include the University Woods campus on the West side of Madison and the Prairie Ridge campus on the East side of Madison.

Life Enrichment programming offers a wide array of services at Oakwood Village, including music therapy.  In the spring of 2018, three separate stories were released on music therapy at Oakwood Village, thanks to the Oakwood Village marketing department and especially Beth Johnson.  Wisconsin Chapter for Music Therapy member Melissa Cole was featured in these stories.
